We here at The Working Waterfront, published by the Island Institute, thank you for your interest in and support of our work in 2013.
And we look forward to this new year, a year in which we hope to grow and improve.
We have lots of ideas and plans to upgrade our news gathering for and information sharing with Maine’s rich coastal and island communities. More than anything, we aim to open a deeper dialogue with you, our readers, as we exchange ideas and opinions on this dynamic, endlessly interesting environment.
This part of the world, which we all cherish, faces big challenges, some wrought by global forces, some of our own making. But it also has assets beyond measure. As those of us who care about the coast and islands work to retain what is good and remake what is not, we hope you’ll stay tuned to The Working Waterfront.
