To the editor:

In response to “Risks of LNG” by Robert Godfrey [letters, WWF Sept. 06]…

This pipeline is over 30″ (think hula-hoop size) and is an export line with 1440-psi pressure. Robert Godfrey wrote it is being built “east of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.” [This pipeline will pass through] many neighborhoods, many schools, city streets, people’s backyards… I applaud Robert Godfrey for his concern for mankind [when he writes] “terminals need to be well away from people, in compliance with LNG industry standards, and away from areas critical to fisheries and recreation.”

Believe me, please, most people here in Saint John agree with this and don’t want it planted here in the middle of a populated city…
