On Wednesday, Feb. 8, the Island Institute will host an Island Small Business Forum at the Island institute office in Rockland.

This event will bring island small business owners together with small business assistance professionals. Participants can learn how to access training and technical assistance services on-site. Speakers will present strategies for bringing more customers through the door & new ways to keep old customers coming back; ways businesses can use new technologies to increase profitability and how small businesses in rural and remote communities have used purchasing co-ops to reduce costs.

There will be representatives from Maine’s Small Business Development Centers, the Maine Technology Institute, the New England Cooperative Development Institute, the Small Business Administration, Women, Work and Community and other groups.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and the forum will run from 10 to 3. Lunch will be provided.
