Regrets and congratulations!
Deep and shared regrets in the loss of Ted Spurling Sr.’s voice in your paper. Ted is a co-founder of the Islesford Historical Society who, with wife Cara, contributes mightily to its many publications. I viewed with pleasure your illustration showing Ted’s unique hand-written copy. I have a thick file entitled “Letters from Ted” that holds a rich collection of missives received from him over the years.
Congratulations for selecting Barbara Fernald to follow in Ted’s footsteps. Perhaps we’ll learn a little less about celestial navigation, but Barb will convey the pulse of the Cranberry communities.
