A small exhibition of oil paintings and watercolors by artist and architect Emily Muir opened at the Farnsworth Art Museum on April 21, and will continue through Aug. 13. The exhibition celebrates Muir’s long career (she turned 98 this year) and also includes some examples of work by her husband, sculptor William Muir (1902-1964) along with the publication of her autobiography, The Time of My Life, by the Island Institute. The book chronicles Muir’s life and career as an artist, which began in the 1920s. Proceeds from the sale of the book go to support the Emily and William Muir Fund which is managed by the Institute’s Island Community Fund.
